On October 21st, 2015 several students from the Teen Center hopped on Bart and headed down to San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood to participate in a service learning field trip where we served food at the world famous Glide Memorial. It was an awesome experience and a chance for our youth to give back and serve others in need. Westborough Sixth Grader Xander Vasquez said the following about his experience at Glide:

The trip to Glide Memorial was a blast. It made me feel grateful for what I have and the life that I’m privileged with. I got to meet new people and serve food. I met a man who served our country and lost his leg and had his recovery run him dry. We talked and I got to learn a little bit about him. I served in the “Coffee Box” which was a room where the disabled ate. At the end of the day, I feel good and I know I’ve helped a few people today.
