Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County is excited and honored to be one of the recipients for the 4th Annual Lam Research Heart & Soles Run on Saturday, March 25 at Santa Clara University. This family-oriented run/walk is dedicated to helping provide students with opportunities to exercise and access to nutritious food. Proceeds of the race will help the Club purchase new stoves for the Orange Park Clubhouse kitchen, purchase athletics equipment, and benefit the kids and families that we serve every day.
The Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation, in partnership with the Santa Clara County Office of Education, the SJSV Chamber of Commerce, and the South Bay Labor Council, created this event to benefit children’s health and wellness. Lam Research eagerly lent its support as the Multi-Year Title Sponsor, and in 2014 the Lam Research Heart & Soles Run was founded.
In the four years since its founding, the run has raised over $400,000 for its benefiting organizations. In 2017, the race will be serving the Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County, Santa Clara County, and North San Mateo County, Get Earthquakes Fit, Santa Clara County Office of Education, Specialized Foundation, and YMCA of Silicon Valley.
There are several events to choose from including a 6K run/walk, 10K run, and a Kids Fun Run. Runners, joggers, and walkers can enjoy a scenic course which starts and finishes at Santa Clara University, and loops through Avaya Stadium—home of the San Jose Earthquakes. All 6K and 10K participants receive a jersey-themed tech shirt, finisher medal, and timing chip. Kids Fun Run participants receive a cotton race shirt and finisher medal.
