BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Bruce Wright received a BA in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and his CPA license in 1984. He joined Good & Fowler in 1978, and has been a partner since 1986.
Bruce has been a member of the South San Francisco Rotary Club since 1991, and has served on the boards of multiple non-profit organizations, including South San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, CuriOdyssey, Vallemar PTO, and Rotary Plaza (181 unit low-income senior housing project). He was a Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County board member from 1992-1994, and returned to the board in 2013. He has been the Club’s Board Chair since 2014. What excites Bruce about working with the Club is the chance to make a difference in the community, serving youth, and giving them opportunities they may not have the chance to get elsewhere. Plus, he says the staff and board are really fun to work with!
Among her many responsibilities, Rena Crittendon serves as the Community Initiatives lead for DPR Construction’s Bay Area offices. A Peninsula native and 4 ½ year veteran of DPR, Rena is responsible for developing partnerships with local organizations that support under-resourced families, and for helping those organizations move toward their goals through skills-based volunteering. Rena also serves as primary contact for local organizations receiving grants through the DPR Foundation. She believes wholeheartedly in DPR’s vision to be integral and indispensable to their communities and works hard to deploy DPR’s professional resources, ranging from construction services, to youth education and operations support, to partner organizations.
Rena earned a BA in Liberal Studies from Cal State East Bay (formerly Cal State Hayward) and resides in Hayward with her husband and two children. She is passionate about working with youth to help them reach their potential and has worked with Girls Inc., Peninsula Bridge, and 7 Tepees in addition to the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Mike was born in San Francisco and has lived in Pacifica since the early 80’s. Mike is active in the Pacifica Community and has served on the Pacifica Planning Commission, the Pacifica School Board for 14 years, and the Pacifica City Council for 10 years.
Mike resides in Pacifica with his wife, Liz, and has three grown children all of whom attended Pacifica Schools. Mike presently works for the Jefferson Union High School District Adult School also for San Mateo District 3 Supervisor, Ray Mueller. Mike also is a member of the Pacifica Historical Society.
Aragon Burlingham, Executive Director, has served in executive management roles at a diverse range of Silicon Valley companies for more than three decades, successfully leading teams that have taken products from concept to production. Burlingham switched careers in early 2008 to focus on his life-long passion of enhancing math and science learning experiences for kids.
He founded the We Teach Science Foundation, pairing engineers and scientists with middle and high school students across the country for remote tutoring and mentoring, improving test scores, and bringing real-world relevance to the disciplines of math and science. Most recently, he was director of partnerships at Envision Learning Partners and is responsible for developing and growing a nationwide network of partners committed to “Deeper Learning” through their “High Quality Performance Assessment Systems.”
Burlingham earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford University. He served on the CuriOdyssey Board of Directors from July 2019 to June 2020.
